So what Kayak or fishing related things did Santa bring you?  I got an Olympus Stylus 770 SW waterproof camera to replace my Pentax Optio that I drowned at the 2007 New Melones Trout Derby.

I got a measure net.

Cool net. It's got the numbers inside the net so after netting w/o adjusting the fish you can measure the length of the fish. The 0 is in the middle and goes 14" in each direction. You just add up the length at the head w/ the one at the tail, and there you have it.

Takes a few steps out of the process. It's built pretty well and seems like It'll take some abuse. It's also got a telescoping handle and best of all, the nets have a zipper that runs around the edge so you can replace the net when it gets trashed. Pretty cool net for fish up to 28".

Mysterioso undergarments for under the wet suit.  Sooo warm and comfy!  I laugh at the cold!

I asked Mariko what she wanted for Xmas.   Without hesitation she said "a fishing license".   I think I'm in love again after fifteen years together.   Happy New Year all.

I think my AOTY talk put me on Santa's Bad GAF list. I got a tea pot (which I will enjoy cause I am a tea fanatic) but not one lure, pole, reel or hook under the tree.

Saturday I pick up a prowler for myself , so I won't complain. :smt073

The best gift I got was 2 hours of waveski time in perfect, glassy 2-3ft face Santa Barbara sandbar waves, from 7-9am christmas morning. The wife bodysurfed about 50ft away from me on another peak, and we were the only people in the water the whole time.
I drove up to the family Christmas breakfast wearing only boardshorts.
Merry Christmas in Cali, life is good.

Happy holidays to all.
