I've done that with rattlesnake skin pinned to a board before Scotty. It's pretty well mummified WildernessMedic, I doubt it really smells like much unless you put your face right up to it.

Skin alone doesn’t have much matter to smell. I did this same technique with a yellowtail skeleton and it is definitely an outdoor item.

I had to go and check...Yep it still smells like a FISH! :smt003
6"-8" is where you pick up the odor.
The skull is hard as a rock and  the mouth is 7 in. across!
It was actually really easy to make, when I  started,
 I stuck 2 sticks inside to keep the mouth open,
Poured the salt/boraxo mix , put it in a box and in 3 months if summer heat, it was done!

I really like ur Yellotail skeleton  WMedic :smt007
and yea, mine will NEVER make it into the house  , probably on the shed...
