Where/how did you mount your transducer, any pictures?

Also curious about how that location for the fishfinder works out as far as viewing angle.

I never thought about flush-mounting a fishfinder on a kayak. I'm not sure about having to look down, but having it out of the way and always ready to go must be awesome. Curious to hear how you like it.

SICK!!!! I almost opted for the 475 but went with the 460. Also flush mounted mine as well. Although from the looks of it, the 525 has a little less real estate. I've been out for test paddles twice now and love that its out of the way and I don't have to worry about hangups. I thought that looking down would become an issue but I honestly dont look for more than a few seconds at a time and a quick glance down is easy. I also added a bit of velcro on the top to keep my cover angled up for some shade when needed.
As for the massive transducer on the elite 5, I bent a piece of flat aluminum that hooks into my footwell and wraps around the hull to the center. A bit of electrical tape to keep the cable nice and tight and some 20lb velcro to prevent scratches and to keep the transducer stuck to the bottom of the hull. Unfortunately, I don't have pics but I pretty much copied this guy from the Gold Coast. He does call out a possible drag issue but I'm nowhere near an expert and it doesn't bother me at all. Hopefully I can make it out for a paddle with you guys and slay some fish!

Thanks wakeside.

Have been trying to figure out how I am going to go about this. Don't really want the transducer mounted externally because I think the Evolution with the keel and somewhat recessed rudder should allow me to travel over the kelp and don't want the transducer hanging up. Unfortunately trying to goop it in by squeezing it though the access port also looks like a PITA!

Yeah thats a good point about the hangups in kelp. I'll have to put some more thought into mounting options.. I would love to have that thing mounted better but I don't think the massive transducer would even fit in the AP and mounting it without being a cluster *@#@. I know there are some railblaza mounting options but haven't bothered to spend time looking into it either.

That's a clean and interesting setup but where is the transducer? That looks like a good solution to store battery/etc but also looks to consume a big chunk of space in the hatch as well. I know that most people glue them into the access port but the TI transducer is a beast.

:smt005 Nop! That's where the transducer installed inside the first hull of the kayak.
