On Sunday my first salmon I hooked was fighting hard and going nuts. It was jumping every where and running far. Lots of kayakers saw the fight. Seems like a silver and was told it was a silver by the way it was fighting but it wasn't. When I got it in the net it was very green but was a king with its black gum and tail. Was checked by Dfg and they said it looked like a silver but said it was a king by checking the tail. So the Fight doesn't matter. Just know how to identify them properly

I agree with you, I think the fight is not a good indicator.  I've had kings that had gone bird crazy.  For me, the check marks are the gum, the spots on tail, and the tail texture ... then boink!

Coho also have a more "trout like" body shape. They have a thicker/wider caudal peduncle than a similarly sized chinook. That can be used as yet another check, as long as you have a little experience looking at (100% confirmed) chinooks.

Catching cohos up in Washington has helped me tell the difference.

Fight and color usually do it for me right away.  Size too, but I have caught some good sized coho.  I have been using the tail method for many years and have shared it on here a few times.

Matt released 2 kings today and I released 1.  They were caught while calibut fishing at Shelter Cove.  15-20lbers.

Why not just use the method DFW recommends?
