Anyone ever launch out of Pierce Harbor? I'm curious about fishing for Sturgeon in the area where Montezuma Slough hits Grizzly Bay. I'm also wondering if it might allow access to Grizzly Bay with a more reasonable paddle distance.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

I stopped by there today. Maybe it would be possible to get permission, but the marina is closed to the public. I wouldn't want to come back and find my car towed.

Interesting.  The CA Division of Boating and Waterways site says it's open to the public.

"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.

Yes, I had seen that. I just sent the state an email asking for more info. The ramp is accessible to a kayak but I don't know if that is legal.
