July 16, 2016 in Monterey.

The official 2016 Pay It Forward Paddle event will be held @ the beach in front of Monterey Bay Kayaks.

2016 GRAND PRIZE: A Brand New Beautiful Santa Cruz Kayaks Raptor G2 donated by our very own Jim Martin aka Baitman!!!

Proceeds from actual PIF paddle and raffle will be given to current PIF recipient(s) if there is a need...otherwise can be kept in reserve until a need arises...

$20 raffle tickets can be bought at the event, or in advance via PayPal (do not need to be present to win).

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=Z8V3GDGU5JQKE

Do NOT put the word raffle anyhwere in your transaction...Paypal does not allow raffles...

THANK YOU to Baitman for the VERY generous donation of one of his beautiful kayaks!!

 :smt007 :smt007

Please let me know if you have any ideas for the event or contributions for the raffle or want to help out.

BACKGROUND:

Pay It Forward (PIF) raises $ throughout the year in a variety of ways (AOTY/DOTY registration fees, annual PIF Paddle and Raffle, donations, raffles put on by events like GS and FreshKats etc).

Historically, this $ has gone to NCKA members dealing with cancer or other serious illness or tragedy.

Here is a breakdown of how much $ has been generated via PIF efforts over the years and where the $ has gone:

2010: $6,000+ given to Mooch
2011: $9,000+ given to Mooch/Shicken
2012: $8,000+ given to Mooch/Shicken
2013: $10,000+ given to Mooch
2014: $15,300+ given to Porky's daughter Hailey
2015: $21,901.40 ($1,120 to PAL, $10,360 to Rob102's dad Jack Forney, $10,421.40 in reserve)
2016: $3,000 given to MontanaN8V, approx. $10,000 still in reserve (4/5 balance is $11,638.59 but ~$1,500 is earmarked for 2016 AOTY/DOTY prizes)

I hope to get down there for PIF, but it'll peak season for struggling kayak fishing guides...

Great job.  :smt001

Are you still thinking Monterey or somewhat change Venue? I know most if not all AHULLS are on that area. Just curious. Either way I will be there like last year. Thanks
