Actually...in mid October, there might even be some local campsites available.

I just checked and for Oct 17 there are a bunch of tent & RV sites available @ New Brighton. And a couple dozen RV sites available at Seacliff.

We're stoked to see all the interest in the ROOTS Derby!  Here's hoping for an extended Indian Summer and some great fishing into late October.  Definitely bummed Big Jim can't make it, but it sounds like he's going to be swarmed by ladies up in SF...

How and when can we sign up?  Might as well since it's on my doorstep.  Better get on the water and start honing in the magic.

Cool. I love this tourney cause it's so close to home and has a smaller feel to it. Signed up online but
it seems like the waiver forms link isn't working?

this is going to be fun---I already got like 6 folks on board with me and cant wait--first Derby my wife 'FishingGirl' - aka Amy- gets to paddle out on this year---she lost a really nice fish last year  :smt003 :smt003 and has been practicing setting the star drag ever since....she was using a double squid rubber two hook pLine set up and now every time we go out she tells me to get 'her" lure on the pole  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044
I am also really glad  its a local event and my friends are already signing up....cant wait

went to see my buddy at the fish market and there were these beautiful 8" squid just put out for a 1.50 a pound...got bags of them hand picked the ones with nice tenticals etc...also had some real fresh anchovies there that got tagged and bagged..cant wait

She would have won with that fish last time! Good bait is hard to find in Weimar :smt044 Trying to carve out the time to make it. Was a blast to roll around and play with y'all last year(?) seems so long ago...
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

since this is a local event for me--if you are in  need of a fresh  lb. or  two of hand picked squid /chovy/maks?? frozen -to hand off,the morning of this event in the parking area  :smt002
just p.m me-- the thinking here is this offer is mainly for folks coming from inland or who cant get primo stuff on their way in---not an issue--I  can bring a  big ass cooler and keep a running list of who needs what  :smt001
