and after seeing what it does i was thinking why doesnt kayak manufactures impregnate something like that in strips  running lengthwise though the hull of our yaks?

You could always just drag a dead rotten shark behing your yak,  It should last for several trips until it falls apart :smt005 :smt005 :smt005.  Then just catch another and let it rot a bit  :smt044
