Muir state beach

(1/3) > >>

Garety:
I have to go to Muir state beach saturday, for a bbq/Little fire with the GF. I say little fire as I was told bonfire last time, and brought a truck load of wood for a BONFIRE, and was only allowed to make a little fire.

Any ways I was wondering has any one dove or fished from Muir? It looked a bit sandy.

I am wondering if I should try ab diving/spear fishing/tackle fishing/bring a kayak, or if I would be just waisting my time.  I've heard abs are pretty tough to get from marin county, but I was wondering if any one has any first hand experiences around Muir?

Rick:
Bad vis, sharky, and not a whole lot of abs, probably because of the limited kelp growth in that area. I would expect any abs in that area to be holed up in intertidal cracks.

Your best bet would probably be bringing your yak and H&L'ing it for a chance at rockfish, salmon, and stripers.

SteveS:
Later in the summer drifting baits for halibut can produce some very nice fish. You could try a few drifts now...Salmon are too far out right now to make it worthwhile. Rock fish a near sure thing outside the cove itself

agarcia:
Dropping a couple crab pots would kick out some crabs also.

Rookie.Slayer:
Enjor your day, grab a couple surf rods and soak some anchovies. I heard someone caught a striper not too long ago doing the same thing at stinson.
