I know the answer is depends  :smt001... but wow there are a lot of different paddles out there. So what is the best all around, light weight , best value for the money out there. Father's Day and our 29th anniversary is coming up and my wife asked so I said I want an upgrade in the paddle (not her) :smt044.

The bending branches angler pro I used last week was really nice, carbon shaft with bright green fiberglass blades. Werners are great also. Come by the shop and we can go through the different materials, warranties, prices, and shapes. Have you ever tried a bent shaft?

We carry Werner, I'll have to check tomorrow if we have a camano in, what size do you need? 230 or 240 I'm guessing. I'll be at the shop all day tomorrow, come by if you can and we'll talk about Trinidad on Sunday.

Will do between honey to do's! :smt006 Not sure what size to get? I'm in a Hobie Quest for now.

Sounds like the Werner Camano is worth checking into for sure.

I like my Wave by Cannon - it's got big blades.
Time to focus on quality over quantity.

Just remember if you go with low angle paddle like a Mid Swift or a Camanno go long 230-240 I'd you go with a high angle paddle like a Swift Skookum or Werner Shuna shorten it up 5 to 10 cm. if you hold up a 220 Shuna and a 230 Camanno you will she the shaft lengths are almost the same, the blades on a high angle paddle are just shorter.

My personal favorite bang for the buck paddle is Swift Skookum it has alot of bite and great feel in the water, not to mention they do cool graphics. That said I have used a Werner for 5 years and it always has served me well.

Thank you for all the advice.  :smt006 I have always used the default Hobie paddles with no problem, so I hope I can really feel the dif.

The difference is like jogging in hiking boots vs running shoes. Once you have the right tool for the job you will never go back and never regret it.
