Super cool!

What do you think about rocking the new dive housing on there so then you could pull the pole and put it in the water and get some sweet clear underwater footage of the fishies yak side too?

 :smt003

Thanks for sharing!!

Sincerely,

Jim

That was the plan, but ya have to actually catch some fishies for that to happen. Inside the cove it wasn't happening.
There was one other kayak out there and he only managed one fish.
When the water treats me a little nicer I also want to get the mirage drive in action from below as I am cruising along.
There was some fog in the video as the day progressed. I don't know if that was on the inside of the lens or not. I never thought to check for it. Going to keep my eyes out for some of those water absorption packets.
I am also going to have to get more familarized with the features on the GoPro so I can access the 'upside down' mode easier when I want to video from below.
One really nice thing was being able to extend the camera out the car window without bothering the driver with the butt end of the extension. The butt end stays in one place while the rest of it extends.
That's when you saw the shadow of the arm Cameron.  :smt003 Holding onto that extension button allowed me to slide the camera in immediately so I didn't hit anything.

Tote,  That works nicely.  I like that perspective.  It captures you, the yak, and the actions.  I have no doubt that one of your upcoming videos will show a big fat ling getting landed. :smt003

Tote... Here's a tip I plan to try to prevent fogging on the inside of the GoPro housing and to keep water from beading on the lens:

Hey Tote,

I ended up finding a rubber o-ring that fit inside my mount to eliminate the slop and keep the GoPro from rattling.  It made all the difference in the world.  The trick is finding the right size for your needs.

There's a bunch of UW vids on my YouTube page, but they weren't taken with the new housing.

Tote,  I'll see if I can get some picts together to send you.

I came across some Rain-X wipes.  Tried them out the other day on the lake, and they worked great.
