When do the stripers start showing up?
I have read about them being caught from the cement ship and new Brighton beach, but do not know the time of year to expect them.

Thanks

Has anybody had any luck trolling.  If so, what lures are best?

My favorite pencil popper the cotton Cordell 5-1/2 blue back or blackback.just prepare fo ge strike that first hit always makes me jump.second spro buck tail with 6 inch white trailer, finally a swim bait.these are the lures I throw for stripers
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

You can try trolling if you can find some flat water outside the surf line.  Might be able to coax one outside.  Keep in mind you plan of "what to do" once you hook-up outside the surf line.
