Does anyone use Pro-Cure or any other brand scent on their bait while trolling for Salmon in the ocean?  I figured I'd ask because the guys who fish for Salmon in lakes swear by it.  Thanks guys.

Sometimes I use the Smelly Jelly Anchovy scent if I have it with me.  I use it for rockfish too.  I have noticed the difference while jogging for kings off the jetty and when catching salmon off the Jerry.  An oily scent trail off your bait may increase your chances a little bit.

WD40 sprayed on your flasher to shine it up and scent.   :smt003 :smt044

I forgot about the krill.  Last year while fishing off my boat a buddy brought some really good krill gel that stayed on the bait good.  It also does work good especially when you clean your salmon and find out they have been gorging on krill which is one of their staple foods.

It worked for this guy:  "Pautzke Pro Staffer Joel Shangle with an Alaska King caught mooching herring smeared with Gel Krill"

Oh crap!  I'm already on the shit!   :smt005  I may have to keep a special reserve on hand...  Domenic fed me one of these the other day and I was floating on air.   :smt004

Sorry for the threadjack, but it all seems related to me.

I fished rockfish with Aaron a few years ago, I used squid, he used procure and lots of it. I fished right next to him with similar lures and he caught 2 fish for every one I caught. Sure Aaron was a better angler than me, but that day convinced me the artificial scent can increase saltwater hookups. When it is WFO,  it is not necessary, but when it is slow or you are in a tourney, slather it on. There is no such thing as too much.

So he has been aging those since 2010? I had a couple of them they were tasty then.  I have some Stone Vertical ales that have been aging for ahwile.  I only have 09/09/09, 10/10/10 and 11/11/11.

Back to the topic on hand, scent.  Here in Humboldt many of us bust out our secret scent when things get slow or other times too.  Its not really a secret though its our trademark.  Best fish attractant out there.  I swear by it.  :smt003 :smt005 :smt044
