I've got one of these (new - been in the closet for awhile) and it looks like it would be a great poke pole for the deeper steeper areas. The section are just sleeved together so if you can take it apart and use only the length that you want to e.g. a 4' pole, 8' pole, etc.. $20 u-pick-up Belmont Peets/Safeway. pm me if interested.
