the hatch was not left open or any other hatches. we practiced self rescued and it filled up again. was able to get back on this time but was hard to paddle/peddle back to shore. (the kayak was filled with flotation bags/pool noddles this time.) Sorry, still trying to figure it out.

He was wearing a Neoprene Wetsuit pants and a Neoprene Wetsuit t-shirt.

We bought Hobie side kick ama kits. We tried them out on the reservoir and the kayaks would not flip at all. Even when they out of the water.

--- End quote ---
The conditions were quite good. Just some swells. not too big. The accident was not because of the conditions. It was because of :
I decided to flip my rudder up when going through the kelp. When we were out of the kelp, I tried to flip my rudder back down, it was stuck under a bungee cord for some reason. I forgot about the 3 golden rules and so, I took my paddle and tried swatting at the rudder. But on the way to the rudder, I flipped. Dad was helping me get back on when he flipped.

Not all of our gear. Dad forgot to upload the videos from our Hawaii vacation which was 1 or 2 weeks ago. Now it is on the bottom of the sea floor.
