Well it has been a long road but the FND is almost ready.

I haven't done much to the yak because it has everything it needs already thanks to Sean for installing paddle clips and I installed bungee cords up front and tossed a crate in the back. No fish finder mounted but for now my fishnbuddy will have to do,

Now all I need is for someone with sonar to take me salmon fishing :smt003

OK so here are some pics

A thing of beauty I can be proud of

Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

James, where did you get the thigh braces? I've asked the local yak dealers and they don't know anything about them...

Hey Craigh,
You can go to any kayak shop and they should have them, thing is they probably won't know what they are as they've been catering to the sit inside sea kayak folk and not sit on top. I'm curious who are the local dealers?
I know California Canoe and Kayak has them.

In Modesto Valley Sporting Goods, carry's OC and Wilderness. Thats were I bought my Drifter, Copeland also carrys Perception. The sales people I've talk to all go, what we have is on the wall.
I'll look up California canoe and kayak. I can see where the braces would make a big differance.
Thanks for the info..

Looks great James!  We have thigh braces too, but wedon't get a lot of demand for them except for surfers.  They do provide great boat control.

Nice looking boat, James!

I test paddled a FND a couple of years ago in San Diego and really liked it.

I used thigh straps with my old Tarpon 160 and recommend them.  I haven't used them the last couple of years because I put so much stuff on my boat that it was jammed.  Now that I'm going more "minimalist" with the Marauder, I'll start using them again.  They make a huge difference in heavier seas and landings.
