This thread is really making me want to do some crappie fishing.   :smt007  Maybe to late in the season ?

Alex
crappie fishing was pretty good at lake Mendo this time of year.   They were just off the first break hitting crawlers and minnows.

Where in the column to they tend to be oriented this time of year? I've been getting a good amount of small bass and bluegills with a drop shot rig with crawlers but no lunkers.

I was getting them a foot or 2 above the bottom just as the bottom was dropping off. In about 15fow.  Even got a few on the troll looking for stripers.

A few results from a few ponds around my area. Hopefully it warms up soon so I can go out and do it again

All freshwater panfish are good. I love the taste of bluegills the best. And maybe it's just me, but the smaller ones seem to have the most flavor.
