Welcome aboard Will. Let the addiction begin. Good idea to make a list of the safety gear you need.

I have the Sea Ghost 130 and love it. The 110 would certainly be easier to transport.

May be a late report but a good one. Water looks great. The Cape is on my bucket list. Beautiful fish.
Thanks for the pictures.

You know life is good when your wife says all she wants for her birthday is a fishfinder.

That's awesome, Mike!  Good to see you too.   :smt001

How did your day go on Monday?  It was much slower than Saturday for us.
Slow at first. Lost a nice ling right at the yak. Didnít want to pull out the net.
Lesson learned. The rock fish bit turned on just as I needed to leave about 11:00. Was paddling back and see fish on the graph and as soon as I dropped down I would get hit. Brought home a few blacks and one blue.
Released a few others.

It was great to see you guys on Saturday. The water was just perfect. Thanks to to the ones who said to fish there over Humboldt bay that day.
Was my first time fishing the Cove. I am hooked now. Caught a beautiful Cabezon a  Ling and some blacks. First time in the ocean for my wife. She caught several fish herself.
You know life is good when your wife says all she wants for her birthday is a fishfinder.

Glad you are ok. You definitely kept your cool. That guys should totally pay for any damages and apologize personally. Can't believe he did not turn around right away to make sure you were not hurt. Congrats on the monster ling!

Mailed my paperwork yesterday. Looking forward to fishing the cove for the first time.
Can't wait.
See everyone there!

Nice fish. Thanks for sharing the report.

Nice Fatty.
Thanks for the video.

Nice Triple
Thanks for sharing

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Re: Local Tackle & Bait Shops

Found a good tackle supply store today. Was on my way to Sportsman Warehouse and saw a sign for Turner's Outdoorsman Hunting and fishing. Was looking for some 4-5oz Jig heads. They had a great selection of lures for rock fish and ling. Also had a bunch of Shimano reels on clearance.
Store is located:

9200 Fairway Drive, Ste 130

Looks like they have new stores in Stockton, Modesto and Sacramento
