Thanks guys, itís still hard accepting the fact heís gone, we still have his big brother (my standard dachshund) Grizzly Bear, that helps a little. Yesterday was tough for us because Grizzy was running around whining, looking for his little brother. We still miss Gummy a lot but know heís better off.

Kayak angler madness: Symptoms include dramatic increase in time spent online trying to understand tides, watching kayak fishing videos to figure out how the heck to catch and/or release a fish on a small platform with grace (ha! not there yet), and researching all the gear? Speaking of online resources, thanks Lost Anchovy for being a go-to

Don't forget shrinking bank account and dwindling storage space.
And the primal urge to spill fresh fish blood on a clean deck!  :smt007

Terrible that this happened. South Beach is no joke makes me nervous just trying to have a family picnic there.

I have considered buying waders for shore fishing, possibly at Point Reyes. Have see neoprene and it is the same material as my wetsuit, would it be safer?

In my opinion heíll yes if there snug like your wetsuit, at least around the spare tire area.

My wifeís 5 year old Rottweiler Gummy Bear was diagnosed with bone cancer, his health was degrading rapidly and the small lump on his head grew rapidly while we waited for the diagnosis. So today we had to make the hardest drive a dog owner can make, he was put down today at the humane society and is getting cremated.

A rescue knife on your pfd will take care of a line around you rather easily. I have on attached to my pfd and it doesnít get used as a bait knife, it lives there so if I need to live,  I have it, check and if needed sharpen every year.  Also have a two clip bow line.

Make your spray foam mold then fiberglass over it and you could glue whatever material you wanted to that, fiberglass is fairly easy for a diy guy to figure out and very sturdy.
Iím afraid if I put fiberglass on the foam it would no longer fit the shape of the kayak.
You could do it in reverse, protect the kayak hull then lay fiberglass over that and once itís hard foam the back and you could put slats in it with mounting hardware and glass the back in. Just saying fiberglass is good for all kinds of custom modifications. My experience with it the most is repairing cracked semi fenders.

I built a set of that style (not sure the brand) into a collapsible mountain bike trailer for a dude that was down from Alaska having me make a custom roof rack for his RV  back in 2016, now where the hell did I put them pictures?? Oh ya! Here ya go, he loves it for toting it from camp to fishing.
