Title: Feelfree's new Offshore Kayak the Dagon
Post by: Paddleboy84 on July 20, 2016, 11:40:24 AM
I was lucky enough to go to Icast last week and check out all the new stuff. One boat that got me excited was the new Feelfree Dagon. It's their new "offshore" model. This was still a prototype shown and we talked about a few tweaks that need to be made, but all in all the boat looks pretty sick. Excited to get my hands on one to test out.

Thanks Dan for that video.
The Dagon looks pretty awesome. Do you have an idea on what the price might be for that kayak and will you have one to demo?

Thanks,
Tim

Price is $1299 rudder is an extra $200. We will be getting a demo to test this fall, and production boats will roll in early next year.

Very impressive. I wonder if weight target is realistic with all that HW, but certainly  very interested in trying it out. Thanks for the video!

If you need someone to demo that bad boys let me know, I would love to see if it handles the ocean well!  :smt006

I'm hopeful, but time will tell. Feelfree has never been known to be a light boat, but they are burly as hell. The designer Paul really wanted to shave as much weight off this design as possible without sacrificing stiffness. Can't really ask for more than that.

Cool boat. So can that seat be used on a moken?

We are all pulling for an updated seat for the Moken. The Moken has been a shop staple, but I think we all agree a new seat would go along ways. Especially if they want to compete with what Ocean Kayak just did to their Trident Series. Granted at $899 the Moken is going for a entry level price point with great value. I still think if they redid the seat and upgraded the tracks and charged $989 it would still sell like crazy. That was the input I gave them at Icast. Time will tell....
