I have two......Tani-ized then never used since.  One is Gold One is Black.

so I guess these guys are spoken for.

I don't suppose either has a clicker?

I have a gunmetal one with a clicker, which reminds me, I need to tune up that bad boy before our long range trip.

No clicker, but I'm willing to stand next to you and make the noise, with my hand on your shoulder.  "Have you ever had another man make the clicker noise for you?"

BTW.  I like to use the old Penns as client reels, since they can take the use and abuse.  And, I am confident working on them fixing them up.  Sadly I've had a few losses lately so I need more. I have a small collection for years, but want to protect some of my long-held reels for posterity.

So, if anyone has some of these gathering dust that aren't in too bad a shape, let me know, I need to re-stock. Maybe trade other gear, guided trip, or even $ though my $ mostly goes to momma.

PM me?

Bushy

I think I have a couple old reels around here, I'll take a look and PM you.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Hightide, LOVE IT!  I'll take pix of my accurate 146 and Tiburon 500 and post tomorrow.

Bulldog, let me know ifyou want help.  We could rebuild it in my garage.  I am fairly confident with those reels.

Thanks Bush Master.    :smt001  I will definitely take you up on that . Maybe we can get some fishing in before the rebuild ? Drop you a line to see when you got time.

Gonna try and hit high tide today locally for some "cute" perch as FM1 describes them.  :smt005

I started fishing salt water with Penns and have modded squidders up to the 80 international they are pretty durable and affordable (for the smaller reels). The down side for me is mainly the weight and the spool/frame clearance making it tricky to use spectra. It was cool to being able to hot rod old reels with aluminum frames, different gear ratios and handle set ups.

haha

that's why they have the side plate release screw knob......So you can take your reel apart while you're fighting a 20-pound halibut and clear the line from the plate. It's been done!  that reel only gets mono now.
