Sorry to have missed this gathering,
I'm sure Aaron was out there with you having a great time
Rest in peace brother
See Ya Soon,
Eric / Yakhopper
P.S.
I remember Mooch saying something about that redhead at MBK after the P.I.F. paddle
Was the background in the last 2 pics just coincidence?

What a great day OTW. Fishing could have better unless your last name is Tsuji. :smt044 Will post up a report and pics tomorrow. Left my ice chest there so if anyone picked it up, let me know.

Brothers, I'm sorry that I too couldn't make it out as I was stuck working all day. It looks like y'all had a very special gathering/remembrance. Much love and respect to Aaron and to the entire Big Sur crew.

around 11:30 I was fishing near the yellow can. In the distance Phil was performing a burnt sage ritual. Watching the smoke float off, feeling the swell rock my kayak was amazingly peaceful. There are questions that can never be answered but peace to all touched by this.
on the beach a passerby walked up and asked if this was the same guy that worked at the shop. We told him it was, and he was shocked and saddened. He said he had recently purchased a yak from Aaron and was talking to him about rigging it for fishing. Andy sent him to NCKA.
Fishing was tough but I brought in a 30 and 25 inch ling, Nathan brought in a 24 incher. Hopes for the future are good, released 6 lings, most the size of a standard issue mackerel. I lost my yellow squeeze wenoka dive knife, but hey the sea gives and takes.
As to the redhead in the background of the pics, I don't know what you are talking about :smt003

I launched late, but I was stoked to paddle out with Al & Sara, and Mdoka Matt.
Matt & I fished around the red can. I started picking up some sand dabs but only one at a time. In 140 FOW that is a lot of reeling to bring such small fish. Al & Fishmaster paddle over and we do a few drifts across a reef out there but no real love on the swimbaits.
The beach hang was lots of fun & good food. I'm sure Aaron would have been happy to see his peeps having a good time in the sunshine.
I just now had to run an errand, and when I closed the truck hatch a shower of sand spilled off it-indicator of good times being had. :smt002.

A great triumph to all of you. Smiling faces bouy a saddened heart. Brotherhood and sisterhood is the way.

The first time I met Aaron he offered me some some fresh batter fried halibut, and made sure I had the tartar sauce to go along with it. It was the bomb! May Aaron's soul rest in peace. You guys are great for doing this.
