General Talk / Re: How often do you wash your outerwear?

Curious,  How often do you wash you outerwear?  (Jackets, pants, drysuit, bibs, wetsuit, etc)

Wash? Never thought of that. Maybe that's why I always seem to fish alone...

Haha a true fisherman.  What bothers me the most is the pee drips that gets left inside. It kinda builds up.

I just put a jacket and bib in the washer after several months of use.  Used Nikwax instead of soap.

Stains and smell were getting too much.

When we go to the gym or do activities that makes sweat and get our clothes dirty, most people typically put their clothes in the wash.
When we go fishing we can sweat and get our clothing stained and slimy, especially outerwear.

Curious,  How often do you wash you outerwear?  (Jackets, pants, drysuit, bibs, wetsuit, etc)

Priced $189.99. I always wanted one. Very tempting.

General Fishing Tips / Re: mm thickness for farmer john style wetsuit

7mm is too restrictive for paddling.   I used to wear 3mm before switching to drysuit and never going back.
Completely agree, angler drysuits are pricey but keep you warm and dry with the right layering.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Neoprene Wrist Gasket Replacement
« on: April 15, 2024, 10:28:01 PM »
The NRS Champion Jacket comes with neoprene wrist gaskets.  I own one and really like them.
The neoprene gaskets prevents water going to your arms. Not as waterproof as latex but good enough. This me wearing one. https://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=101802.0

It's a good looking jacket. Unfortunately I cannot return my jacket and I want to learn how to replace the gasket hehe.

What jacket do you own?

I have a kokotat tempest jacket. I really like the jacket except the latex gasket.

I have a Tempest Jacket too.  I haven't used it since I started using the NRS Champion Jacket, which is IMO  better designed for kayak fishing.

General Talk / Re: Sunglasses that I highly recommend
« on: April 02, 2024, 06:37:12 PM »
Biggest problem I have is keeping them clear of salt water. I need them to see my fish finder. Need transiton readers. Always switching between sunglasses and reading glasses.
My Costco prescription sunglasses have progressive lenses. Good for distance, intermediate and reading viewing. Works great for outdoor conditions.

This is good info about sunglasses. I wear prescription glasses and checked their prices, seems  if I use Costco Optical for prescription sunglasses, price is better.

Thank you so much for providing the boundary lines. I dowloaded them to my 2 Raymarine Element FFs.
