Had a good day on the central coast last Sunday. No monster fish, but took home 3 vermilion, a sheephead, and a nice cabezon.

My girlfriend also came out with her drone and got some pretty cool shots from the sky.

Here is a vid of the day. Enjoy  :smt006

Sweet vid!

What Rob Allen are you using?

Didn't see a reel or float line. Do you use either?

Thanks and keep em coming  :smt001

Thanks! I was using a Rob Allen 90. I like having the extra range and power for those longer shots on sheephead, and it hasn't hindered my hole hunting ability too much.

I was using a 75 ft Gannet skinny floatline (you can see it at 0:38 in the video). I prefer a floatline over a reel pretty much all the time. It allows for marking spots in between dives which is super important when you can't see the bottom from the surface. The only downside is you can't swim through underwater tunnels and out the other side with a floatline.

Here's a link to the floatline I was using: https://gannetdive.com/collections/floatlines-1/products/skinny?variant=1083089215

Yeah I agree and typically use a float line as well. But recently I've been trying to use a reel more often since I'm usually with my boys and since they have float lines too there's usually one too many in close proximity of one another.
