As per usual, I only got to dive with fuzz once last year... :smt012

http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=82630.0

After over 365 days of texting and bugging him, he finally showed up to my house at around 9am last Sunday...I'm usually already in the water and diving by then...  :smt005

Amadeo was meant to be there too, but life came up so he couldn't make it.  :smt010

Loaded up the yaks and gear in my truck and headed down to the spot.

Once we paddled out and jumped in we started hunting around for fishies, and of course fuzz found the first fishy spot.

After he called me over he dropped down and I wasn't surprised to see him come back up with a nice Red on his spear.

He told me there was another one down there but after multiple drops I couldn't find it, and then he went back down and confirmed it had vanished....so I shot a Blue instead.  :smt005

Awhile later I moved my kayak over in a little shallower and was pleasantly surprised to find a nice solid Red in only 33 feet of water.  :smt001

By now fuzz had two Reds on his stringer and the wind waves and chop were getting bigger so we started working our way back to the launch site.

Stopped at a nice looking pinnacle and didn't find any good fish, until I went to pull my anchor and there was a decent Cab sitting right there...always check your anchor!  :smt005

Hit up one last pinnacle and took an Olive, a nice Sheep, and a decent Ling.

Fuzz took another Red and a Ling same size as mine.

Back on the beach we took some pics and scaled and gutted the fish and then headed home.

Super long day, but a ton of fun with a good friend, and very glad that we got some decent fishies.

The drive down and back gave us time to get caught up and talk about life, family, fish and stuff....and he drove back so I could enjoy several post dive beers as well.  :smt004

Will see if I can get Harold to come out and play again before 2020.  :smt005

Here's a bunch of pics and a little InstaVid.

Small olive...I think...didn't see any calicos down there, but there were a ton of little olives...and that looks like an olive back from above to me...

Jim
