« on: August 11, 2021, 09:09:32 AM »
I cut this off a Fresh N Salty FB post, it looks pretty small as it's on a kayak deck but I've never seen anything like it. Anybody? they were at Dillons, yakking inside Tomales bay.

General Talk / A Wolf in Tuolumne County
« on: February 26, 2021, 11:00:17 AM »
I can't confirm the text below, but I included a CDFW link at the bottom, that shows the same wolf in several counties far from the OR border.

A New Visitor in the Motherlode
State wildlife officials confirm that a gray wolf that made its way from Oregon was tracked in the area between Highways 108 and 4 in Tuolumne County. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reports the animal was in that area on Wednesday the 24th, and is the first known visit of a gray wolf to the county.
The one-year-old male wolf is being tracked by a collar numbered OR-93 by the department. He is a relation of an Oregon pack named, The White River Pack, according to CDFW. They detail that in 2017, two wolves were documented to be using the White River Wildlife Area and Mt. Hood National Forest, marking the first time multiple wolves were confirmed in Oregon’s North Cascade Mountains. The animals were also observed on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation.
Why the wolf has ventured into the county is unclear. Although, Fish and Wildlife biologists believe that he is dispersing from his Oregon pack, and where he will end up is unknown. CDFW officials stress that gray wolves pose very little safety risk to humans. They offer these tips if anyone should encounter one: do not run, maintain eye contact and make noise while retreating slowly.
Additionally, these wolves are covered under the Endangered Species Act in California, which makes it unlawful to harass, harm, pursue, hunt, shoot, wound, kill, trap, or capture them.

For Sale / Baby Walker, Spotless like new FREE
« on: April 25, 2020, 05:03:11 PM »
Yes I know it's not fishing related but there are some relatively new parents here,,,,, We used this for our grandson, very few times actually, threw the cloth seat in the washer and it came out absolutely spotless.

Absolutely free, and I'm bored with SIP & SD so might even deliver within reason.

If you're interested I can take it out of the box and do more pics, whatever,

Most charities won't take anything baby related so  here it is.

For Sale / VHF radio GONE
« on: October 02, 2019, 05:34:42 PM »
Uniden MHS550, purchased in 2008, still works, did a radio check at the marina about a week ago. VHF, FRS, AM, FM, Wthr.

See it at,     https://www.buytwowayradios.com/uniden-mhs-550.html

The issue is : A few years ago I started looking for a replacement battery, none available, the original still charges but I don't know what kind of capacity it has left.  Also comes with a AAA pack but that limits it to 2.5W.

I got a new one, and won't use this one anymore, passing it on with the above noted.

I have everything including the manual and the box.

Will ship on your dime.

For Sale / Pneumatic speargun GONE
« on: August 10, 2019, 04:25:56 PM »
Mares 24" Pneumatic, I've had this gun for about 30 yrs. Still works, seems like new, just checked it.  They're still available if you want to look them up. Complete with shaft, loader, and pump.

I used it a few times in the 90's, worked well, but I just preferred a sling till I quit diving.

I'm not into selling oddball stuff so it's free. Located in Martinez.

General Talk / Feeling Nostalgic?
« on: March 22, 2019, 11:08:15 AM »
Just for fun,,,,

If your system is like mine, when you're reading a post, at the address line on your browser you will see something like this http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=87185.0;topicseen. For a couple of clicks you can jump far back into NCKA history just by changing the number.  Apparently post one isn't available, but you can see No. 2.

Yeah, Yeah, boring shit but some of us are like that. :smt004

General Talk / Memphis Net & Twine

Just thought I'd throw this up. I bought some stuff from these guys a couple yrs ago and now they send me a catalog once a year (but only one/yr Yea!) not like some retailers where it's once a month.

Anyway, a suggestion, get one of their paper catalogs, it's the kind that show you stuff you didn't know you wanted  :smt044

No, I have no connection to them but it's a great source for stuff not readily available locally.
