I know I'm going out on a limb here but I am partial the Cambria/ San Simeon area.  :smt007 San Simeon State Park has great camping and those tidy little Bed and Breakfast joints are just down the way.
This place has always kicked up fish for myself and friends since 1994 and offers a protected launch in the poorest of conditions all year long.  It could accommodate a hundred kayakers and more as long as it isn't a major holiday weekend. The launch site "Leffingwell" is in Cambria and is killer as long as there is not a Large Southern Swell.  There are launching and facilities for kayakers up the line at the Pier of Hearst Castle too.
I come up from the South so you most understand my affinity for this particular location.
Please consider this venue and I promise you will not be disappointed!
Very Respectfully,
Anacapabob

1 of The Lake Almanor Group Camps
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

parkway lakes

:smt104  :smt102

So funny, Michael. I've never seen anything but rented boats on that lake, and the owners don't want you to release the plentiful 6 inch fish you catch, that BTW also count toward your day's limit.  :smt005
