I just missed you,  staying in the 5th in the harbor parking lot. Be here for the weekend,  its the salmon opener! Congrats on getting out on a great yak with some good weather, and crabs to top it off!

Did you go out for crabs also?  Don't know a thing about catching salmon, lol

Nice day otw. You got so many it looked like you needed a bigger bag. Way to keep at it even though you only had half a paddle to work with. After twisting and bending my crab gauge using it to pry them loose from the trap I now use my needle nose pliers. Since you would be illegal the second you dropped that gauge in the water, I suggest a tether for it. Nice haul. I've never seen crabs cut in half before cooking. Is there a benefit to that or is it just a different method?

if you clean them  before cooking the meat is white and sweet, I like it that way much better.

that video was long but pretty cool. I like the way the kid helps clean the crab.

Good point, I could if used that paracord to tether the crab gauge, lol.  I carry multiple gauges just to be safe from pulling a homer.  Cutting the crabs in half not only tastes better, but less to clean at the table and can fit a bunch more in the pot.

Yeah it was long video, almost the same length as a sitcom.  I am surprised if anyone sat there and watched the whole thing. Hahahaha
