My son Alex and I signed up yesterday, then went to Bayside and confessed our ignorance and paid Todd penance for his advice and artifacts.  He said we'd catch a big one.

Mol,

Thanks for the direction. I'm going to try and make it there and join the fun :smt003

Alex

After going there this morning, I'm not sure that my directions will work.  I tend to go along graham hill road to e. zyante.  when I was on e. zyante this morning I looked for Mt. Hermon and didn't see it.....

And.....GET THERE EARLY.  Gates open at 6.  I highly recommend being in line at 5:30.  Father's day is a VERY busy day at Loch Lomond.  There are going to be a bunch of people there fishing for trout.

I will get there pretty early to drink coffee and shoot the baloney in line.  channel 69, blue pathfinder with a lime green Drifter.

PS, I got some very juicy info today, but no fish.

what do you guys think the wind will do to lomond?

sounds fun, but I'm allergic to parking and crowds and spending money.

if I could teleport in on my yak, I'd be good.

good luck to you guys!

I'm gonna have to miss this one too. Just too much going on. I should be good for the saltwater one in Sept, if that happens.
Best of luck to all of you, should be a nice day to be out there.

Alex:

I wish I could give directions....but I don't know all the street names.

Eagle lake is a first for me and the kids.  the wife is going to hawaii, and I had the chance to take Max and Ema on a camping trip where we could actually FISH.

Roger keeling is a guide up there and a regular gurest on the radio show, and I've been hearing about Eagle,  Almanor, antelope, etc for a few years now.

We were going to go to Almanor with one night at eagle, but the bite has shut down at Almanor cause the water warmed.

so it's Eagle lake baaby, on Monday.

I'm bringing the Prowler13 for Ema and the malibu 2 XL for me and Max.

Shimano trout rod and reels with 6 pound test, and mooch for the trout in 50 feet of water....I'll take pix.

Hey if you show up on sunday remiond me to give you that newspaper article from last year.  i've been carrying it around ever since.....sorry.

The wind has been picking up at around 11am.  It was dead still calm from 7-10 am this morning.  Glass.  No clouds, water visibility improving but still very stained.

I begged the rangers to let me launch my yak Saturday night at closing and leave it overnight, but they said "no".

Ah well.....

The weather should be fantastic for the tourney.

Don't forget your ultralight rods if you want to annoy the bluegill after the tournament (heck, they make perfect trout rods too).

Good luck to you guys at both spots. Eagle lake is only 80 miles from me but I have to save gas money for that non-kayak/ pier derby on the 24 at Berkeley Pier. Its free so if any of you want to join me let me know before the derby.
