Bungle, no problem man! You know you are destined to win since this is probably your first kayak fishing derby  :smt002
Haha, yeah I've heard about that trend.  We'll see :smt003

I was curious if there were rules for the derby posted anywhere (like you can access them after registering through paypal)?  I was wondering about any rules pertaining to the acquisition of bait?

If anyone has ever been on pierfishing.com they could see the true dynamic of a pier fisherman.  Grumpyness.  A miserable lot they are, in all my days fishing from piers I have never yelled at anyone on a kayak.  I've had plenty of kayaks shoot through my fishing lines without incidence.  I still remember what that a$$hole looked like.  He had a mullet.  Just for you James, I'm gonna shoot through the pier on my way back in saturday when the derby ends.  :smt003 jtf..

yeah, he did look like that!!  'cept the guy was about 6'4" tall and probabley 230 lbs.  Big guy.  Seriously though, it wasn't really a big deal, I shouldn't bag on pier fishers.  I do it myself and enjoy it.  There are usually only a couple a'holes fishing from public piers but for some reason they are they ones who usually grab most peoples attention.  So, traditionally, there have been some crazy yahoos at the op pier but most of the guys i've fished with there in the couple times i've gone have been real cool.  Just in case anyone was wondering: he yelled to me that we were supposed to stay 500' from the pier and I assured him that we wouldn't cross their lines.  Then, when I got outta casting range I mumbled, "hit me now, bet ya cant cast this far" and he heard me and yelled back, "no i cant, but i can hear you mumbling under your breath"  :smt005  I just laughed and paddled away, no biggie.  He just needed a  :smt003 JTF..

As many of us have done pier fishing at one time or another I think the Issue is asshole or not, it doesn't matter weather your a bankie pier guy or pber just common courtesy escaped that fella and I would like to name him asshole of the month and if we see him again we should give him a prize and sing He's a jolly good fellow. I think he was afraid we would take his fish from him after all they are all his fish you know.
