We just got the green light to hold our 1st derby in S.F. Bay... thanks to Mike, owner of the Oyster Point Marina Bait Shop and the Harbormaster.

In 2-1/2 weeks from now, Oyster Point is expected be the halibut and striper hotspot.  Last May, Allen "polepole", Bill, and CPkayak landed big butts there... not to mention the nice stripers that many of us also caught.

Here are the derby details, so far....

Date & Time
Saturday, May 13, 2006,  6:00 am start time, 12:00 noon weigh-in at Oyster Point Bait Shop

Derby Format:
MBF (money between friends) and Prizes (TBA), Biggest fish wins

Registration Fee:
$20

Targetted Fish:
Halibut, Striped Bass, Sturgeon

Launch/Landing Area:
Oyster Pt. Windsurfer Launch

Awards and BBQ Location:
Osyter Point Bait Shop

Stay tuned for more info.....

Sounds like fun.  I'm going to try to make it.

A Delta Stamp is required to fish the SF Bay, correct?

You will need a bay/delta stamp.

I have to say Chuck has done an amazing job putting this event together on short notice and dealing with the various agencies to get permission. Cash AND prizes what could be better? This will be a fun filled event for sure!

Sounds like fun would love to be there but with Mothers and Wife "B"day that week it will be a good idea if I sat this one out.
Maybe since Pat is such an expert in WAF Bill should have an "Ask Pat"Forum where we could get advice. :dontknow:

Notice ChuckE's nice tournie layout.  Early launch and weigh.

You book her a spa visit for early Saturday.  You bring the wine and flowers home on Friday evening.

Bring home a large Hali...that you clean before the return drive.  You cook the dinner for your lovely ladies and you are the man!

Oh, and if you are skunked...............toss out the fish market paper before putting the filets in your ice chest............ :smt002

Does that help Mickfish?
