Title: Point San Pablo Harbor
Post by: myyak8me on March 18, 2017, 11:05:45 PM
There is a tournament here in July that has been posted about.  Although I'll be traveling at that time I was interested in this spot so I took a ride out. Jack who posted about the tourney showed me around.  He was great and spent a lot of time showing the marina.  I really appreciate his hospitality.  I'm guessing you guys will have a great tourney out there.

I found easy parking and launching and for now - no charges for either.  I just started kayak fishing last August so I'm always anxious to find spots where I can get access to the bay. This looks like a great one.  There are signs on the way in about no fishing and trespassing but you can ignore them.  It's really a neat little marina.  (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170319/caf3a9de80e4ae2c8e2e6e8600bb22a6.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170319/39d7d12b486f8d0ccde7766d2754d113.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170319/cafa4c8c70ad33c50fb76ee387e1e100.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170319/d1e98bf223e9a1b7cfab25638cc6c298.jpg)

When you get to the front of the marina go around to the left and drive down the jetty to the beach.  Unload your stuff and go back to the front to park. Looks like club members, bed and breakfast folks and charter boat customers park on the jetty. Jack also told me if the tide is too low for getting out or in we can use the launch ramp.  I forgot to check that out...  oops.

There isn't a launch ramp, I meant you can come do the docks and pull up on the docks!  It has to be a really low tide for anyone to get stuck!

Do you drive there via the Pt Molate exit by the bridge or can you drive off Castro Street by Chevron?

Sorry didn't see this,   That other bay is good, has a nice beach and I see the ospreys regularly catch stripers there..  The estuary that looks to be there is the channel to Chevron's private harbor. You can fish in there too.... unless someone wants to say you can't.. but it's a navigable waterway, totally legal.
