Suction cup mounted the Dragonfly FF on top of the rod pod. I did kick it going to side saddle but it stayed on. Had the battery box in the front location and ducer off the side for initial trials. After some salt runs I will install the ducer in the hull and see if I notice a difference.

Also will try side mounted on the track for the FF but for fly fishing I like to swing my leg off either side and strip my fly back. Problem is the rod sits right on the track.

Being able to completely remove the FF and ducer is nice though.

Hey Ted - did you ever hard-install your transducer into your hull? If so, did you notice any difference in its reception?

Hey D, so far can't tell a difference with the Raymarine DF ducer. Haven't gone deep in the salt yet and I really don't need it too. 150'+ on San Luis and I can't tell the diff from when I hung it over the side. I did the water bath install like Mel describes and it works well. The thin walls of the Eddyline probably help in this regard.

Gonna send you a PM on something to watch for though.

Took a picture of my Dragonfly 'ducer mount when I got home. The water in there is because I transport it upside down. Need to do a proper feedthru, for now the cables just go out the hatch.

Nice job Ted.  I gooped a couple of straps velcro on the sides of the foam to keep the transducer in place.  Keeps it in place if you're transporting your yak upside down.

Thanks Mel, followed your post for the tips. I thought about the straps but I think I made it tight enough that it wont need it. Until I install a feedthru I'll just keep taking it out anyway.
