Greetings folks, it's been quite a few years since I was last at an NCKA event, but living in Wisconsin will do that to you!

Selling my semi-dry suit since I don't get out like I used to. This suit is size "large" and has only been worn twice. It is in perfect, like-new condition. The suit goes for $640 brand new, I'm selling for $400 including shipping to your location. Payment through Venmo or Zelle for security.

General Talk / New Tattoo
« on: June 15, 2016, 10:28:06 AM »
When I was young and dumb I joined the Marines and promptly got myself a few tattoos. Fast forward 20+ years to now, when I'm old and dumb and I have been having the urge to get new ink. I settled on a traditional drawing style based on the "fouled anchor" many sailors recognize, but instead of an anchor I chose a circle hook design that means more to me as a fisherman. Just got it Saturday and it's healing nicely:

General Fishing Tips / Kayak Fishing Company Pros
« on: February 26, 2016, 11:02:13 AM »
It's been a few years since I last fished with NCKA and I am missing the camaraderie and the big fish! Now my job has moved me to Milwaukee, WI. I'm aware that there are a few kayak fisherman in the area but I've had some trouble connecting with them since the few emails I've found aren't live anymore.

Anyhow, I'm wondering if the sponsored pro's on NCKA know of any of their counterparts who may be in the Milwaukee area that you could put me in touch with? Once the ice comes off the harbor I'll be fishing either way, but it would be great to get connected with anyone in the area who's already active.

« on: February 07, 2016, 10:26:02 AM »
For sale is one Shimano Baitrunner 4500B, loaded with 65lb braid. The reel is in perfect condition since I mainly used it as a loaner or back-up reel. Now that I live in Wisconsin I don't have much use for it.

$125 and I'll pay shipping to you. We will use PayPal to ensure a safe transaction for both of us.

For Sale / SOLD
« on: February 07, 2016, 10:14:42 AM »
I held on to this stuff thinking I would move back to the coast after living in Idaho for a few years. Now that I've moved to Wisconsin I think it's time to let this stuff go to someone who can actually use it! (See my other posts for reels I have for sale too)

This tackle box contains:
2 Shimano Butterfly Jigs
3 Megabait Knife Jigs
5 3oz Skirted Vertical Jigs (Charkbait versions of the Shimano jigs)
1 5oz Skirted Vertical Jig
3 Krocodile spoons
6 Custom painted 3 oz Kastmasters
4 Sumo Jigs
1 Tady Jig
3 5" Big Hammer Swim Baits (Halloween)
4 7" Big Hammer Swim Baits (Bleeding Mac)
1 Tackle Box with Hook One sticker

I'll let this go for $125 (less than $5/lure), and I'll pay the shipping to send it to you. We'll use PayPal for the transaction to ensure some protection for both of us.

About 1/3 of the hooks need replacement due to rust, but the lures are in great shape. The rest of the hooks could probably use a little touching up with a file since it's been a while.

General Talk / How much to tip a fishing guide?
« on: July 30, 2015, 09:43:33 AM »
Hello everyone,
I'll be traveling to Tampa Bay at the end of August for a family reunion and while I'm there I've booked a half day trip with this guy: http://www.bradentoninshorefishing.com/

I've never hired a guide before and was wondering what a normal tip would be. The total cost for me and my brother is $350. I was guessing a $50 tip would be reasonable. What do you think?

If you haven't heard of Movember before I'd advise you to take a look at the Movember website: http://us.movember.com/?home
This is a great cause and a fun way to raise money for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer. This is my first year participating and I'm already enjoying the awkward stubble that I'm trying to pass off as facial hair  :smt044

The NCKA brotherhood has always been generous when any one of us were in need, so I'm posting here to give folks an opportunity to help me raise money for a great cause. Several of our NCKA brothers have been diagnosed with cancer, and sadly not all of them have beat it. Participating in Movember is my small gesture to help beat cancer.

If you can spare a dollar, five dollars, or even more I'd greatly appreciate it. If you visit my "MoSpace" at the following link you can make a secure donation. My goal is to try and raise $100.
Thanks for anything you might be able to donate! Here are some pictures to help give you a laugh.  :smt002

General Talk / Fly Fishing Waders
« on: March 31, 2012, 05:21:30 PM »
It's time to replace my waders for fly fishing and I'm considering one of the models that have a relief zipper. Has anybody used any of these? Ever had a leak?

Unlike being on a yak, the zipper will be underwater most of the day so I am wondering if some models are better than others. I won't pay $600 for the Sims G4 w/relief zipper, but Frog Toggs and Sportsman's both have models in the $200 range with relief zippers. Anybody have experience with relief zippers on waders while fly fishing?

For Sale / Brand new salmon/steelhead lures, PRICE REDUCED
« on: February 26, 2012, 05:41:12 PM »
Price reduced. $105 for enough inline spinners to last you through many salmon seasons. The tackle shops sell similar lures with cheaper hooks for close to $5 each. For 33 lures, these average out to a bit less than $3.25 each.

All of the spinners use Gamakatsu hooks and are either size 5 or 6 hammered french blades. Most are silver, but 5 have black chrome blades for murky water. Four of the lures also have single hooks which you can crimp the barb on if you want to fish barbless waters. All of the others are treble hooks. And, six of the lures have green bodies, although there is some paint splatter on two of the lure bodies that won't affect performance.

All lures are brand new, never fished.
