General Talk / Chevy truck drive off of Monterey Wharf
« on: April 09, 2024, 07:38:09 AM »
Anyone know details on how that truck n the four guys ended up in the drink on the end of the wharf 2 on Sunday?  Is there any lasting damage or commercial interruption?

Max how was ur stay in Tamarindo?

Our group had an awesome trip.  Among the best trips weve taken w this group.  Was really apprehensive about it but ran into no issues whatsoever.  Granted we were very conservative in our ventures due to group size and kids.

Stayed at this huge house w gated security and service staff.  Pricey but the amenities included electric golf carts and location couldnt b beat.  it was really safe and convenient.

Amazing adventure tour included 90 min rafting/tubing adventure that was just right combo of exciting and pedestrian.

Surprises included the weather (hotter n drier than anticipated), and how accepting the country is of US-everything (currency, language, etc). Downsides was the one lane roads enhanced travel time to get to literally anywhere outside of Tamarindo

LatAm continues to surprise and impress me.  Im not naively thinking the region is without issues.  however there is def opportunity to enjoy a family-based trip, and theres a high likelihood we will be back. Im thinking Honduras, CR, Panama road trip to punch two more passport stamps

Can someone point me toward a range that is open to the public that offers rentals for: shooting shotgun and/or pistol and/or recurve archery lessons.

"The Boys" are looking to rally somewhere in the north bay this weekend.

TIA!

Hey Bill, our place is in Tamarindo Beach.  Based from there we'll be going through an itinerary of a bunch of places and POI's.  Love to get your debrief upon your return, as fresh ground truth and personal observations so helpful.  Mostly, I want to know about any pervasive scams, physical/personal security, and shore fishing.  Meals and transportation are more or less handled.

I just got back from Vietnam (first ever trip) and the "tips" I got from family and friends was so far off base from my experience that I feel like I need to write a blog.  Holler if anyone wants the lowdown on my 11 days in country.

Any one in South Bay have a telescopic pack rod that I might borrow for Costa Rica during ski week?

I have a little spiderman telescopic but i might try something in and around the surfzone at Tamarindo, need a lil more beef.

Transitions are the most dangerous aspect of yakfishing, whether:

*loading/reloading boat, take your eyes off the kid for split second in parking lot
*surf entry/ exit, EVERYONE has yardsaled at some point, both going out and coming in
*calm to building seas, pull the plug before conditions require and before ur guest calls quits, not only after you are satisfied

Crawl walk run, and best of luck with the trip.
