Haven't been able to dive in awhile so recycled some old footage and pics and made this post for my JK blog about my seven favorite species to target here in NorCal. High quality pics courtesy of fuzz.  :smt003

What are your favorite species??

Nice write up Jim.

N. Cal - Scallops (Favorite), Halibut, lingcod, and Cabezon.

I will eat RF if I don't have access to the others but usually just gift them so I don't have to many in the freezer.

Albacore is also at the top of my list but it takes the stars to align to get them because water temperatures, swells and time of the year all have to cooperate.  Plus you need a bigger boat with lots of gas to get them.

I'm partial to the ever-present Lingcod.
Plentiful, reproduces rapidly, relatively easy to hook but not always easy to land :smt005.
Lingcod are a staple fish at my house (when I am actually fishing) and I just dig 'em. Plus, they look great in artistic renderings too.

After reading others posts I really have to try me some WSB and need to add Salmon to my list. Fresh caught ocean salmon is great even though I only got out a couple times this year and forgot about them.

Great video, Jim.  When you're stalking that ling around the giant boulder at just over 4 minutes - that's the shit.

I'm in to ocean salmon, and just fishing for them we catch lots of other stuff - it's all good.

On the river it's all about steelhead for me.  Looking for that twenty pounder.  :smt001

I posted up a comment on your Jackson blog, bro.  Everybody should - that's good shit, and they're lucky to have you on their team.

My favorite species? What ever my son wants to catch. It is about the time I have with him rather than the catch.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
