Title: Introduction
Post by: SC_Yaker on February 05, 2010, 07:54:26 AM
Hey everyone, I just wanted to take a few seconds and introduce myself since I'm a new member. My name is Chris and my wife and I moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains last summer which is awesome since it's the closest I've lived to the ocean since I lived in Humboldt County. I have been kayak fishing for almost two years and have fished for rockfish, halibut, and trout to name a few, not to mention duck hunting from my yak. I've got a 15' prowler trident that I have come to learn it can take rougher conditions that I can!

I have mainly yak fished in the salt down in Morro Bay/San Louis area on vacations but I am looking forward to learning the Monterey Bay coastline. I'm not a fan of fishing solo, espeacially from a kayak so I signed up to hopefully meet some fellow yak fishermen and I figured this would be the best place to do it. I'm looking forward to contributing and learning as well.

Just for grins, here's my PB Flattie from last summer down in San Simeon 29"

Welcome aboard Chris!!!

There are quite a few of us who live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and we often fish together north of Santa Cruz. Some great spots for rock fish, Halibut and an occasional Great White Shark that has bonded with one of our brothers. :smt044

This season, you'll have the opportunity to participate in a number of tournaments and campouts with a great group of guys and their families.

Rich

Sean,

I'm just gonna be sure that I fish next to you, cuz we both know he hates red things and loves blue things!!! :smt044 :smt044

Let me rethink that.... OK, I'll still fish near you, but I'm bring my stainless 9mm.. We'll both be safe...
