Got hit major today on the way to the coast.. **Speed trap shortly after Monte Rio on River road where speed limit signs transition between 35/55mph**.

Wasn't driving anything excessive but they were there pulling cars over quite a bit it seemed. I respect LEO's but got shafted hard by what came off to me as a major *%$!@. Officer Jimerson? Left a bad taste in my mouth. You prick.

Also heard that there's a jazz festival goin on for this weekend... so just a rant and heads up. Any traffic attorneys out there?  :smt012

Supervisor gave me the day off last minute... so went fishing. Luckily Loch Lomond was still open and had bait.
Got there late and in the water around 4pmish?. Looked like small white caps from Loch Lomond, but when I got to Paradise conditions were awesome.  Nice water and just a gentle breeze every now and then. Wind picked up slightly around closing time.
All in all, got one short but got a nice fiesty 29''er on the last run before heading in. Outgoing current was pretty strong so had to hightail it on the way back in before closing. Was a nice day to be out.. wish i could've stayed longer.

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / paradise 6/2 & 6/4

Not much but got my first halibut from the kayak. Fished for my third time at paradise and finally got one. It's amazing how catching one fish can bring such joy. :smt045 Fished the late afternoon incoming on tues. Was a little breezy but wind really calmed down to nice conditions around 7.  Park person had to kick me out.

6/4 late afternoon incoming again, skunk for me but great conditions. Pier action was really good with multiple good sized hali's caught as well as striper and shark/ray action.  Live anchovies were the hot bait for the hali and one on the shiner also.

Side note:  tried out the r.a.m revolution rod holder for the first time and seems much better than the r.a.m tubes as far as positioning and reach.  Thanks also to shicken for the fishfinder hook up which is definitely nice to have!

fish on!

Newb to spearfishing.

Started diving for abs this year at ft. ross.  Recently got my first gun so went to find some fish.  Got in the water at about 1pm.
Visibility was poor with cloudy water.  Couldn't find any fish so played amongst the rocks and surge checking out the abs.  After awhile, started feeling queezy and decided to head back in.
Stopped over the side of a reef in hopes of spotting some fish on the return.  The water seemed clearer surrounding and over the reefs, due to light reflection?  As I was scanning the reef top in hopes of spotting a Ling or Cab, a fishy figure appeared off to the side slowly coming in my direction.  Yes! a good sized fish.  Huh? Woah. Big fish. Time kinda froze for me as my mind went through different thoughts.  Sturgeon!  Pausing as we met, the fish then passed underneath me continuing his way to the ocean, and I just sat there dumbfounded doing some double takes.
Not too experienced in judging the underwater size thing, but estimate between 4-6 ft. with a decent sized girth.

Wish I could have taken some pics, but Kayak to come first.
