Bar sounds much better than being clobbered by falling trees.

Egads. Stay safe!

The individual on a micro/mini kayak would probably be at a significant disadvantage. Having the ability of some self sufficiency would be a safety consideration on the water - if not oneself but also for the others. Sudden separation from platforms can be disconcerting or disorienting as well.

Would think a decent tandem would be doable along w/ another capable vessel. The mini kayak thing sounds sketch, unless one is a beast. Paddle boards seem sleek and on the lighter side

This has worked for me on a couple frozen bag zippers. The application then helps further corrosion build-up and locking up. I use it on a cooler bag that sits on my kayak and it seems to work fairly well.

General Fishing Tips / Re: Freezing bait: tray or no tray?
« on: January 23, 2023, 09:01:54 AM »
No tray. I try to pre-straighten as much as practical. Like the stacking tho.. I forget to make a spacer when stacking for freezing and the weighted ones on the bottom get mushed

I was quite happy. Probably sadder in a can... though a tomato sauce bath might be joyous happiness   :smt005

Recipes / George Foreman Herring(fresh)
« on: January 22, 2023, 03:05:51 PM »
After cleaning, the fish were liberally salted in a large mixing bowl. Placed the fish in ziploc overnight in fridge.

Removed from fridge. Rinsed and pat dry. Placed fish to be eaten in a dish uncovered back in fridge to dry age. Decided to try some after 3 days.

Mini-George Foreman grill for maybe 5-7 min. till lightly browned and crispy skin.

Eaten fresh hot off the grill with rice... sooo good  :smt006

No issues for me if eating the pin bones when thoroughly cooked.
The George Foreman seems to compress sear the flesh and easy clean up with a wet paper towel.
