9th annual Pay It Forward event

Yeah, Veterans Park is the only real campground near Monterey. Other nearby trailer-camping options include the Monterey Fairgrounds and Laguna Seca Raceway. Fairgrounds is no tents but tents are allowed at Laguna Seca. 
Then heading north towards Santa Cruz, we've got Marina beach RV park, Moss Landing RV park, Watsonville La Selva Beach KOA, Sunset State beach, Manresa State Beach, New Brighton beach, and Seacliff beach. Going south, there's Pfieffer Big Sur state park if you want to camp somewhere scenic & peaceful. Also an RV park in Carmel valley.

I think most people make it a day trip. But if you’re looking for a hotel, the most “affordable” ones are in Marina, about 10 minutes from Monterey. I usually grab a campsite @ Vets Memorial for folks to use on Friday morning. I’ll plan to do it again in case someone needs a campsite (because they’re first-come first-serve).

Being new to kayaking and all these event how does one sign up for this one? Entery fee?

Next year I SWEAR we will be there. 8-11-18 is a final for one of my classes and missing the final is no bueno

The first one is a yellow Ocean Kayak Trident Ultra 4.7.

The second kayak was a classic yellow Trident 15 angler edition, only used a handful of times. Originally donated by Mooch to one of our members after he was hit by a shark in a different kayak.

Once again, all $$ this year will go to Shicken (Marv) whose Cancer has some back...

For those newer members who don't know Marv he is a long time NCKA member, amazing chef and all around great guy.

EVENT DETAILS:

Del Monte Beach/MBK in Monterey.

Park in paved lot or dirt lot at MBK. $10 for all day parking. Public restrooms at MBK. Can rent yaks/gear if needed at MBK as well.

Booze allowed, just no glass.

Paddle out on own schedule in AM to fish or dive.

Meet at Red Buoy at 1030ish for floating happy hour. If bad conditions will meet at yellow buoy right out front for safety reasons...will announce on ch 69.

Back to beach for potluck at noonish.

Raffle to start around 2ish.

Tickets will be $10 each.
