Im going to drift for halibut at crissy field tomorrow morning 6am-ish. probably going to try from some bait off of ft point pier first then drive over to the windsurfer launch area to launch (just east of st francis yht. club). crissy is usually offshore/glassy near shore on a south wind-very pleasant. the tide is a little fast but the visibility has been great there during the past few days. probably fool around for some striper too. company welcome! reply back.

Jeff,

I was going to head over to Sausalito, launching from Ft. Baker. It's an easy launch and not to far from Yellow Bluff where my buddy sez they been hitting stripers in the AM. He works as a deckhand on the new Gold Eye. They were out there yesterday and caught some salmon as well, but had to throw them back. Said there was TONS of bait by the Sausalito seawall. I plan to bring a sabiki and my castnet and try to make bait from my yak.
High tide is at 8am, so a launching early would be imperative, say in the water by 6am.

i would go to ft baker but the winds are going to be south- they are already at 181 degrees up at ft funston right now.  i think crissy will afford more protection. i'll evaluate it in the morning further. i will look for you if i head over.

Jeff,

GL - i was at ft. Point earlier today. Saw 1 halibut landed, but otherwise it was slow. You may want to launch on the beach at the bend before you approach the parking lot. Drift toward Crissy w/ the incoming (high tide at 8am) when it ebbs, you'll head back toward your launch pt. (if the wind doesn't kick up). I'll be on channel 69 or you can call me, i'll have my cel. I can't call out, but i can answer.
