Or, if you want drypants without the stocking foot...check these out: http://www.backcountry.com/bomber-gear-hydrobomb-dry-pant?ti=U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM6ZHJ5IHBhbnRzOjE6MjpkcnkgcGFudHM&skid=BMG0009-DARGRE-M  This style may be more versatile because you could layer your feet according to the temps/location...flipflops or crocs at New Melones in Sept...or neoprene socks & booties in the ocean in November...

Another option to consider is a pair of waist-high waders with stocking feet.

Thanks for the links. I'm thinking in gonna go with socks. Pat yours were the hydrus?
I'm guessing the tropos. We're just an older model?

Yes, mine are pre-Hydrus. I believe the original Tempest pants were made of Tropos material. (Although I'm not sure there's a difference, except in the way they're marketed) No complaints except that the XL are a little baggy on me. And the stocking feet are made to accommodate huge feet, so there's excess material that kinda bunches up if I wear regular-size shoes; so I wear shoes that are 1 size larger than normal.
