Hey Fishmaster, that is a score and a half for $60.  What I will tell you, to get a better smoke going on, look for leaks, at the seat of the rings. I went ahead and sealed mine, best decision I ever made. I have done goat leg, lamb, turkeys not over 14 pounds, you can hear the motor strain).  I almost always set the heat off to the sides, and leave th e middle with a catch pan, keeps the grease fires down.   It also keeps grease from getting down into the coals, you may wish to use water with it, but that is up to you, if you are smoking or cooking. Cooking I use a water pan, smoking I don't. Keep in mind you will never really seal where the rod goes through.

As for skewers, if you have an old rotisserie the skewer spits, will normally fit a weber as they have enough slack.

I love mine it is the bomb!

Thanksgiving at Jan's Dad, last one we had there, it was 2013.  After I did the first Thanksgiving with mine in 2012 I think Jan's cousin went off and got one. He has been hooked ever since.
