Looking for designs to build a kayak rack. Have an idea but thought I would post this in order to see a few other options before I build it. Don't have the space to hang from ceiling so plan on building something in like this
               x            x
               x         x
               x     x
               x x
               x
               x              x
               x          x
               x     x
               x x
               x
               x
         xxxxxxxxxx
I know bad drawing but something like that with rollers on the bottom to move around.  I would use 4x4 as the post and legs and 2x4 for the arms.

Thanks
Jimbo

Mine isn't on wheels, but it does double duty.

I built my trailer as my rack, but I keep it in my barn, so there is plenty of room. It does serve double duty though. I like Craigs too. They are all good if they serve there purpose.

They're fairly expensive.  If you click on products, you then click on each item and the price is listed.

I purchased these racks from Talic and really like them although they don't serve your purpose Jim.

I'm using an old Coleman Barbecue Grill with wheels.  Took off the cover and used 2 drainage tubings to hold the kayak.  What's nice is it's the same level of my truck so I just slide it on there easily.  Very easy to move in and out off the garage and driveway.

+1

This is the rack I would build if I knew how to weld. :smt003 But for now I just hang my kayak on the wall using a couple ladder hangers from Home Depot. :smt011
