I think there's a couple Feel Free users on here but the number is quite limited from what I remember.

Interested also.

Thinking of getting a pair of Moken 12.5 due to storage reasons. My Ultra 4.3 is too long for my current storage situation.

With all the great US made kayaks in this country,,, you want to purchase a kayak that's mfg'd in China ...  :smt012       No wonder we have such a huge trade imbalance.

Right on. I will go to Harbor Freight occasionally for a tool for a one time job but it is worth the extra cost to buy quality tools for multiple usage. Same for kayaks. Look for quality first.  One wants good dependable stuff when on the water. Manufacture's like Jim will fully inform a customer about construction and materials and stand behind their product. Good luck with that cheap imports.

Feel Free isn't made in China, right Jim?  While I understand where your sentiment is coming from, at least get the facts straight.  Feel Free kayaks are designed in New Zealand and manufactured in Thailand.

Sorry have no interest in a Santa Cruz Kayak.......
Guess we all missed a post where he suggested you buy a Santa Cruz kayak.

In any event, there has been a couple Feel Free owners of the past.  As you might have guessed, not a lot of support/users for their line on this forum.  Might have to Google it up.  Best bet is to demo from a dealer & see if it suits your particular needs.  I would think there might be more users on here if it was an ideal fit for the kayaking/fishing needs you find in the NCKA territory.  I cannot comment on how well they paddle as I have never, myself, paddled one.

Maybe molded in one country & rigging/assembly in another or maybe molded in various countries based on model?

Update:. Just looked myself out if curiosity.  So ' Joy Sports Intl' makes the kayaks for Feel free.  JSI is in Thailand but doesn't state anywhere I could find where their manufacturing facility is located.

Yeah,   I read their "Blog" site.   Claiming that "all the Big kayak mfg's are now moving their molding operations to China"  for the cost savings, etc...    Not true from what I've read.  Some that had gone to China for production have returned, though some do have molds built there for the cost savings.
I wonder why Feel Free  (or Vibe etc.) doesn't  print  " Proudly Made in _______"   on their advertising.    LOL.

Action,    My response isn't to sell my kayaks.   Site rules require that I disclose my association with my company.  Otherwise I'd be just another fishing NCKA member with an opinion..
The intent was two fold. One was to say there are far better options out there than a Feel Free.   Since you asked Action.

Second to inform that it's another Chinese import.  We need more jobs exported to China like we need a 20 Trillion dollar Natl Debt.    Yes,, lots of stuff coming from China.    So if that helps to justify your purchase I say,  " Feel Free to wave your American Flag ",,,made in China, or Thailand, or whatever.
