Thank you all, I’m building up the courage... :smt005 :smt006

Are you going to start transporting it deck side down after the repair?

Good question! I’ve never understood the desire to mount kayaks right side up on top of whatever rack system you’re using. I guess one could argue they look cool like that but structurally it is always better to mount them upside down and strap accordingly. But not too tight…..

General Fishing Tips / Re: Anyone ever fish Nicasio Reservoir?
« on: February 26, 2021, 10:01:01 PM »
You mean “Tick Lake”  :smt044

Seriously every time I have fished it I have found multiple ticks crawling on me and the friends I’ve been with.

That being said there are largemouth bass and crappie in there. Never caught anything big there, but when spring rolls around the fish will be shallow and feisty as well as easy walking distance from the car.

Haha yeah true that I’ve had the same experience. We call it Tickasio reservoir! 😁
I’ve heard of good spawning bass bites as well as crappie and carp but no real experience myself other than the ticks.

I mostly prefer saltwater fishing so probably not the best person to ask.

Let us know if you get on the fish.

Check out Meindl boots. They have all different flavors including wide sizes.

Most comfy boots I’ve ever owned.

Scott this is such a refreshing change of pace but...do (semi-rhetorical) questions count as editorializing?

For example: Why are the numbers so much better in some places (e.g. Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, etc)than others(e.g. USA)?

If you want me to delete this just say the word, will be no hard feelings  :cowboy_smoke:

And Japan and the Philippines for that matter.

Non factual, semi-scientific wild assed guess to follow:

Part of it may be cultural - a bit more respect for authority. Wearing of masks in public is quite normal. Larger desire to fit in behaviorally with the society as a whole.  All the above are me stereotyping based on my limited experience in Asia. And it's not like the USA is at 1 and South Asia is at 10. But take all the slight differences, and how they affect the local R0, and maybe that takes you from 1200+ cases per 1M population to 200 cases per 1M population.

Part of it may be due to their having better intel. Taiwan especially.  I believe it highly likely that people with real sway in the government of these countries were getting a much more accurate assessment of what was happening in Hubei than what the CCP and WHO were saying.

End of speculation.

SARS

Agreed. This isn’t their first rodeo.

Here ya go boyz.  Freeman model. Think twas no expensive

Stand by 4 da fridg story lol

Easy fix bro. Remove Allen screw at top of tip and clear jamb by hand. Replace top piece and Allen screw and your back in business. A couple drops of oil while you’re in there won’t hurt anything.

Remember how you did it because it’s going to happen again. 😄

You guys should do your homework on who you are supporting. Spawn is a big part of why we couldn’t get a net pen for salmon smolts in Bodega bay.

They are a controversial group in the local area that is more interested in a few pet salmon to look at in the creek than having a healthy sustainable fishery in the ocean for all to enjoy.

Glad you enjoyed the walk. We were out there with the kids too.

Thanks for pointing that out, Otter. I know that groups focused on wild fish populations are often at odds with those advocating for hatchery programs, so unfortunately I'm not surprised.

Cool man, I love and support wild salmon also but our problems with water and habitat etc are so big that I support the hatcheries too. And yes I’m a little salty that we can’t have net pens in Bodega.

Big Bubbas Bad BBQ

Mechanical bull, happy hr good bbq. What more could someone want?

Hunt down all the poachers, execute them on them on their vessel and sink their vessel.

That would be a good fix but it’s more complicated than that. Half the people on those vessels are slave labor and basically disposable. The whole thing is pretty messed up.

Look it up. It’s crazy what some countries will do for cheap labor and we are part of the problem.

Depressing...
