Interesting... I wonder what Ricky "PaddleandFlies" Mitchell would have to say about this one.

I don't remember a kayak being in Transformers :smt003
Looks interesting to say the least.

You know, that last thign I watn to do is stand in my kayak. If I wanted to stand, I'd buy a pram. these guys, IMHO, are heading i nthe wrong direction. they need to focus on a 25-inch wide fast sea kayak with built-in bulkheads for safety, very accessible storage that has very small outriggers to stabilize it when fishing, but retract for launching and landing in surf and long paddles. Instead, they are making a fishing barge that is impractical to stand in on the ocean anyway.

25 ibches wide? Dude, get an ass. LOL Randall

:smt044 Randall. You are winning since the American vendors are indeed catering to the posterior-proliferation-challenged. :bootyshake:. I meant big folks. :smt003 What can I say--most expedition sea kayaks are 20-24-inches wide even for people 6'4" and over 200. It's how the seat is designed. The Prowler 15 is 28 inches and that's as wide as sea kayak should get--otherwise its seriously compromises speed and handling. So far as I have found, the Prowler 15 /13 are good compromises in a hull. Now if they could take that, add a bit more 'V' and rocker (British-style), 'glass' it, put in a Macski Kingfisher-styple cockpit and think about storage access, they'd be closers than anyone has ever been. The challenge in those smaller sizes is stability if you try dragging a 20-pound Halibut or Lingcod on board flopping away. a coupld of short, small folding outriggers would dod the trick.

Mooch,
Someone has already designed a shark-tail propulsion system for SOT kayaks..

You just have to watch your rear in GWS territory.
