Planning on going to lake mendo with the gf and some friends for July 4th. The kyen and bushay campgrounds are available that weekend. Not sure which one would be better.

Are there any activities for the non fisherman?

Thanks for the advice!

You want Kyen. We've always been told by the locals to stay away from Bushay due to the "undesirables" that reside there.

Not much else to do other than hike, bike, or swim.

Don't leave anything unattended in your campsite or vehicle. A co-worker camped there this month.
Thieves siphoned off 80 gallons of gas from her boat, cut the gas line, & stole the gas cap.  They also ripped off gas & items from another boat parked nearby. Everytime I've fished there this year there was tweakers roaming both the North & South ramp areas.

So I guess the tweaker watching opportunities would be a viable non-fishing activity.
