The hot springs near the State Park beach felt great on the toes.

I had a great time at my first NCKA tourney/event.  I think I must have used up all my luck during prefishing though!  Come tourney day  I only got four bites all day and only put three of them in the boat.  I stuck to my guns though and only fished artificials for bass so I guess that's what I get.  I've got a plan for the next FreshKATS event to try and avoid not turning in a limit of five fish!! LOL

A few pics from the weekend:

Had a great time, tons of fun and some big fish thrown in.  Broke out the fly rods and placed 6th over all with a 26" catfish, 19.5 lmb and a 21.5 lmb.  Big thanks to Riders daughter Savanha for getting us to play cards, learned to play gin rummy and a crazy game called spoons.  Spoons will be come a regular drinking game, it is fun.

You guys put on a great event with great prizes, great food, and tons of fun!!!  Looking forward to next years event and you got a lots of work to top this year.

Big congratulations to Insearchoffish aka Kevin for taking first place, next year it will be mine!!!  And thanks for the shot glasses, they helped me to drink that bottle of rum I was nursing.

It is so nice to camp and fish with like mined people that enjoy having a good time. You all make for a great weekend.

My 2 biggest caught on a 5 weight with my size 8 black wiggle tail.

Had a great time at my first event. The camping, food, and relaxation was awesome! Although I didn't hook up any fish, maybe because I flipped my yak and lost all my gear. New rod leashes made and ready for next time, and mill not unhook anything!! Thanks to James for going diving with me the next mooring to look for my rods. No luck. Hopefully I will get back soon with scuba gear to be able to find them. Yes, its worth it, losing G Loomis rods and nice shimano reels sucks!!!! PM me email addresses if you want pictures of the award and raffle for your advertising and sponsors.

Thanks all for putting this on. Had fun. I tried only artificials only too and got my but whooped. Only caught one fish tourney day. Saw the RingKings prefish report and figured I could do it with out bait. Fooled me. Caught some nice ones today though. Day late. New date, and location, next year will make this better.

P.s.  Sorry about almost getting us kicked out :-), but they deserved it after parking the golf cart on my kayak and then their attitude about it.

Thanks Jim, James, Mike, and sponsors and others who made this event possible. I had fun. Wish more people would make it next time. Congrats Tony on that new yak and Kevin for taking the big win. Fishing was slow. 2 fish, but one got away. I need to try those live bait next time.

First off I want to thank James, Jim, Mike and all the sponsors for a great event. You guys put in work and it showed.

Narisa, Ari and I had a blast. It was Ari's first time tent camping and I think she is hooked. On tourney day I got on the water and could believe how low it was and how many weeds were around. All the spots I thought about fishing were not really going to work. I headed to the island where most had already started. Within an hour I hook into my only fish, and I lost it at the boat on a rookie move. Later in the morning I went to get Ari and Narisa. We headed to the island with Ari in my kayak, she did great. We fished and had lunch on the water. A short while later Ari got tired, so I left Narisa some gear and bait. Ari and I paddled back in, it was a blast to spend time with her on the water. When Ari and I landed back at the campground we decided to try our luck at the trash prize. She was quick to learn and started handing me garbage. The potluck was a great (ribs, chicken, and dessert) it was nice to see familiar and new faces.

Congrats to all the winners!
