Nice gaff.  Make sure it floats.  Hate to loose a beauty like that.

I definitely dont want it lost  :smt013 , I'm making a braided paracord leash for it and pool noodle section juuuuust incase it happens to slip overboard 👌

I dig the color on the madrone, so cool!

I've had good luck with marine Spar Varnish on my gaffs. Seal it up well and it ought to float, a real bonus. I do multiple light coats, with sanding in between to get rid of the drips.

here's Mdoka_Matt showing off the gaff I made a few years ago. That thing has captured a lot of meat for the table!
